Periodically, adjunct teaching positions become available in the Architecture & Construction Management department. The following courses in construction materials, assemblies and specifications are part of the Architectural Engineering Technology and Construction Management Engineering Technology programs:

* CON161 - Materials and Methods of Construction I

* CON162 - Materials and Methods of Construction II

* CON361- Government, Building, Environmental, Codes & Regulations

Please submit your resume if you would be interested in teaching any of the above courses. In your cover letter, please include which of these courses you've already taught, are interested in teaching, or could teach if asked to do so. Please indicate if you are available to teach in the day, evening, or both. You will be called when a position becomes available. Well qualified candidates will have experience in some or all of the following:

* Course specific knowledge to teach in accordance with course learning objectives and student learning outcomes.

* Knowledge of building construction materials and assemblies specified in building and site design, including green building technology and assemblies.

* Knowledge of NFPA 220 Construction Types (Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, Type V)

* Knowledge of prevailing building codes used in Long Island jurisdictions

* Knowledge of construction drawings, construction notes and specification organization, layers and preparation

* Knowledge of design processes associated with architectural project planning, including schematic design, design development and construction document development

Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* B. Arch. (5 year), or

* M. Arch., or

* BS Arch. and MS in related field, or

* BS in related field with construction project management experience.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Architectural Registration (RA) license or Certification by Professional Construction organization.

* 3 years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
