If you are a current Barnard College employee, please use the internal career site to apply for this position.Job:Adjunct Assistant Professor: PHYS BC2002 Electricity and MagnetismJob Summary:The Physics and Astronomy Department at Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach PHYS BC2002 Electricity and Magnetism during the SP25 semester.Job Description:Teach Spring semester Electricity and Magnetism lecture course in introductory, calculus-based physics sequence. Hold office hours weekly. Meet with students as needed. Arrange TA. Grade exams and assign final grade. The instructor will cover chapters 21-44 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker, Fundamental of Physics, Volume 1 or the equivalent. Subjects covered: Electricity, Magnetism, Maxwell's Laws.The exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are determined by the Chair or Director.Strong candidate already identified.Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:Required Qualifications: PhD Physics requiredRequired Skills: Excellent pedagogical skills, ability to work well with students.Required Experience: 2 years of prior teaching experience.Required Schedule Requirements: Must be available Tuesdays and ThursdaysRequired Documents: CVPlease be prepared to share three references upon request.EEO Statement: Barnard College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
