Sciences for Health Programs provides required pre-requisite courses for students wishing to enter the health care field. The department serves to prepare students for successful admission to and completion of their chosen Health Science Program by providing a comprehensive health core and science foundation tailored to the curriculum requirements of myriad Health Science Programs. Sciences for Health Programs at LIU is seeking adjunct Professor of Health Science beginning Fall 20201
Under general supervision, the adjunct professor will develop, prepare and teach a variety of coursework. Additionally, course offerings may be taught during the day, evening, or online, as well as taught using other distance learning formats.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Plan, organize, and instruct human anatomy and physiology curriculum in classroom and laboratory settings promoting student subject mastery and success.
* Work with other faculty to evaluate, revise, and develop curricula and pedagogical methods that enhance student mastery of course content and student success after they enter a Health Science Program, such as Nursing or Allied Health.
* Support the mission of the department and college to promote student learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, faculty scholarship, professional development and service to the college.
* Work a flexible schedule at multiple sites.
* Teach in on-line and hybrid environments, including instruction via Learning Management Systems.
* Assist with the implementation of college policies, procedures and practices in accordance with college philosophy, mission, and values.
* Participate in departmental meetings, committee work and service to the college as requested.
* Strictly honor the privacy, security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to state, federal, and college regulations, policies and procedures.
* Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $1,000-$1,350 per credit
