Job Description :
The New England School of Acupuncture seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and assessment for the acupuncture program. The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise to the responsibilities of teaching an online NCCAOM Exam Preparation Course.The third in a 3-course series, this course is designed to prepare students for the National Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) Herbology certification exam. Exam content and study strategies are covered with weekly topics and quizzes. The NCCAOM exam content and the Acupuncture Media NCCAOM Review Course content will be explored, including using recordings, handouts and practice exams. This 1-credit, 15-hour courses will run for 7 weeks March 10, 2025 - April 22, 2025. It will be asynchronous except for 1 synchronous session.
  • Deliver didactic instruction through the online Learning Management System Blackboard Ultra® in an asynchronous classroom setting with one synchronous session in the course
  • Provide an engaging active learning environment for students
  • Provide students with periodic assessments of their progress toward meeting course learning outcomes
  • Apply grading policies fairly and consistently
  • Develop and adhere to the course syllabus per the NESA/MCPHS format, which includes course description, learning outcomes, attendance policy in line with that of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignment deliverables and timelines
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean
Required:
  • Master's degree required, doctoral degree preferred
  • NCCAOM certification in Herbology
  • Experience teaching NCCAOM preparation preferred
  • Commitment to graduate education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience teaching online strongly preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with students and administration/staff
