Job DescriptionReporting to the Dean of Health and Wellness Sciences, the instructor is responsible for, but not limited to: providing direction, supervision and instruction in the clinical and/or lab area; making expectations clinical focus as outlined in the course syllabus when possible; actively participating in teaching clinical and lab procedures; assisting students with clinical data interpretation; conducting pre- and/or post-conferences each clinical day; supervision students during clinical and lab hours and holding them accountable to the program policies and standards of their profession; recording and maintaining anecdotes of strengths and concerns related to student performance; providing ongoing constructive verbal and written feedback to students regarding their clinical and/or lab performance; attending divisional, program or level meetings as required; informing Nursing Program Administrator or course lead instructors of any agency problems/concerns; discussing agency problems with nurse manager, where appropriate; formally evaluating students on clinical performance in writing on the program evaluation form at midterm each semester and at the end of each term; holding private conferences with students for the review of clinical and/or lab performance evaluations; and participating in the divisional faculty evaluation process according to divisional policy.QualificationsRequired Qualifications: RN with current, valid, unencumbered Ohio License with minimum of 2 years experience in nursing. Must maintain currency in the specialty area through periodic reading, seminar attendance, instructional development program attendance, and/or work experience.Preferred Qualifications: BSN or higher degree.The complete application file should include: a cover letter detailing area(s) of expertise, an updated curriculum vitae (CV), unofficial college transcripts (undergraduate and graduate), and the contact information of three professional references.
