Adjunct Faculty - Ethnic Studies Priority Application Date: March 10, 2025, open until filled. Anticipated Start Date: August 25, 2025 POSITION DESCRIPTION Taft College is seeking apool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking lecturers who have the ability to teach in the above area for inclusion in a pool for the Fall 2025 semester. Note: Taft College offers courses on campus or online. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications for this adjunct lecturer pool can be met in one of three ways:
  • Master's in the ethnic studies field OR
  • A master's in American Studies/Ethnicity, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Central American Studies, Latin American Studies, Cross Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnic Relations, Asian-American Studies, or African-American Studies OR
  • An Equivalency Determination may be submitted along with all application materials to be considered for this position if you do not meet the stated minimum qualifications.   • Must show a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. ​
  • COMPENSATION: $77.02-$90.50 per hour. REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION:
