Henry Ford College School of Business, Entrepreneurship and Professional Development invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty to assist with the develop Overhead Distribution curriculum, learning materials and performance support tools and instruct for the Power and Trades Pathways Program. The subject matter expert will design content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, course materials and tools, lab exercises and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions in conjunction with the objectives outlined in the current course master.

* Earned Associate's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Electrical and Power Transmission Installation/Installer, Electrical Power Line Installer or Repairer, Electrical Line Worker or related sub-field as appropriate to course), Industrial Technology OR valid Journeymen's card appropriate to area of instruction required.

* Minimum of 5 years outside line worker full-time work experience required.

* Demonstrated mastery of related software and technology required.

* Master's degree preferred.

* Earned Associate's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in Energy Technology, HVAC, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field required

* Bachelor's degree preferred.

* Valid Journeyman's card appropriate to area of instruction may be considered.

* Renewable Energy Professional (REP) Certifications may be considered with a minimum of 5 years full-time work experience.

* Additional certification or licensure may be required as appropriate to technology taught in the course

The most successful candidate will have a career that reflects the following:

* Teaching experience is a plus, college or university level instruction preferred.

* Minimum of five (5) years Overhead Distribution/Electrical Line Worker industry experience required.

* Experience in installation or repair cables or wire used in electrical power or distribution systems. Erection of poles and light or heavy-duty transmission towers.

* Demonstrated ability to express themselves clearly in both oral and written forms and demonstrate classroom presentation skills.

* Background in Overhead Distribution/Outside Line Worker Apprenticeships desired.

Reporting directly to the Associate Dean, School of Business, Entrepreneurship and Professional Development and working collaboratively with academic leadership (deans, associate deans, faculty chairs, program faculty and staff), the Adjunct Faculty-Overhead Distribution will:

* Develop hands-on lab exercises and simulations to provide students with an understanding of the operation and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems, electrical theory application for distribution line construction, overhead line configurations, energizing and de-energizing techniques, troubleshooting, and grounding of overhead circuits.

* Demonstrate mastery of course material, come to class prepared to teach the days lesson (including preparing all handouts, exams or other materials before the start of class), and present the material conscientiously.

* Teach course(s) in accordance with the description in the Course Master and in accordance with Department and/or standardized course policies.

* Provide feedback and guidance to students to promote student learning and success.

* Meet all scheduled classes and final examinations as scheduled.

* Grade and return written work to students in a timely manner.

* Maintain appropriate records of student's attendance, intermediate, and final grades; submit required reports to the appropriate office by the scheduled deadlines.

* Develop and distribute an effective course syllabus, following the guidelines of College policies and incorporating required elements for the course master; adhere to the written syllabus throughout the semester, within reasonable limits; participate in the College course evaluation process.

* Be informed of College's support services for students and recommend their use, when advisable.

* Participate in collegiate, professional, and community activities.

* Facilitate student learning, and initiate and participate in efforts to consistently improve the level of student success.

* Responsible for performing, analyzing and reporting assessment of student learning.

* Create assessments and rubrics that clearly indicate how student performance will be evaluated.
