DescriptionThe Lubin School of Business at Pace University is seeking adjunct instructors for our onsite course offerings in the business department. The course is BUS255 (Professional Planning and Practice for Internships and Careers) which covers career planning concepts. Bus255 is a one credit required business core course at the University and includes students, typically sophomores, who major in business. The course is designed to assist Lubin School of Business students to develop the fundamentals of career planning and prepare for successful internships. It will place emphasis on identifying possible career options, analysis of how skills, values and interests influence career decisions, job market research, and developing an effective job/internship search, including the development of a cover letter, resume, web presence and practicing interviewing skills. The professor works individually with students to craft their career plans. In addition, students are expected to write effectively and communicate with professionalism. The course is the cornerstone class in the Lubin Pace Path program. The Lubin Pace Path (LPP) is a dynamic co-curricular program. It provides a uniquely integrated educational experience in and out of the classroom that incorporates professional work in fields related to students' academic and career goals. The LPP builds on Pace's outstanding internship program, which is among the largest in the New York Metropolitan area, and Lubin's experience in integrating real world practical experiences into the classroom. Professors will be expected to work together in a team and will be provided course materials to assist in the classroom. Faculty will work closely with Pace's Career Services department.Successful candidates for this position will reflect the School's commitment to excellence in teaching and service. - Hold a graduate degree.
- Prior experience in one or more business disciplines or in counselling services.
- Availability to teach courses in NYC and/or Pleasantville campuses depending on departmental needs.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- College teaching experience at introductory levels and/or corporate experience recommended.
- Knowledge of resume writing, interviewing, career planning and online job search is beneficial and will be positively considered.
