The Forest Industry Division supports the Ontario forest industry and is responsible for business development, emerging markets and trends, wood promotion, wood supply information, allocation, licensing, measurement and use of Crown timber, forest tenure, forest economics, timber pricing, harvest revenues, forest products trade and the emerging forest bio-economy.
Please Note: This competition may be used to fill future temporary and permanent Administrative Assistant positions within MNR in the Sault Ste. Marie Area.

What can I expect to do in this role?
As an Administrative Assistant, you will:
* provide administrative support to the Section managers and their staff
* serve as a member of the Section's financial team
* provide receptionist duties (greet visitors, answer calls)
* prepare confidential and daily correspondence
* provide customer service by providing routine and general guidance and information to internal/external clients
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge
You have:
* knowledge of administrative systems, processes and methods
* demonstrated experience providing customer service following standards and protocols
* knowledge of financial systems, budget tracking and reconciliation
* experience with records management
Office Equipment Knowledge and Skills
You have:
* knowledge of, and experience working with computer technology and software programs including e-mail, calendars, internet/intranet, word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
* knowledge of office equipment including desktop/laptop computers, fax machine, photocopiers, projectors, telephones and voicemail
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
You have:
* demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to deal with staff, the public and clients
* the ability to use tact, discretion, judgement and confidentiality
* the ability to prepare correspondence, and proofread and edit documents
Analytical and Organizational Skills
You have:
* the ability to work independently, prioritize and manage workload, meet deadlines and respond and adapt to changing priorities
* demonstrated reasoning and problem solving skills
