The Opportunity:
Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture (VCEA) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 2, to support the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). As an Administrative Assistant 2 you will coordinate work, manage schedules and priorities, and prepare correspondence, reports, and travel itineraries. You will provide essential support under the direction of the school's Administrative Manager, including coordinating activities, managing projects, and offering administrative assistance. Your responsibilities will include handling clerical tasks related to faculty recruitment, travel arrangements, maintaining and revising electronic database files and records, and processing reimbursements and purchasing requests. You will also explain and interpret complex policies, respond to inquiries, and oversee office operations such as mail, supplies, equipment, and maintenance requests. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with university regulations and may act on behalf of the Administrative Manager in their absence.
Required Qualifications:
* One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.
* Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
* Strong proofreading skills and attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications:
* One year full-time experience in engineering or science related area.
* Experience working in and familiarity with higher education.

Monthly Salary: $3,239 - $4,299 (Range 37 Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
