POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant will report to a designated department chair (hereafter referred to as the supervising chair ) on Weber, 2nd floor and will provide general clerical support and services to faculty members who make up the departments housed there.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Carry outwork as assignedby thesupervisingdepartment chair.
* Perform needed support tasks of faculty members from the departments of: (1) Behavioral Sciences (Psychology and Sociology), (2) Family and Consumer Sciences, and (3) Social Work and Criminal Justice. These combined departments have 17 full-time professors. The number of adjunct professors between each department fluctuates each semester.
* Oversee the work of student workers / teaching assistants (TA's). Organize a meeting at the beginning of each year to go over office procedures with the TA's.
* Serve asreceptionist, welcoming students andvisitors, answering the phone,taking messages, etc.
* Assisteachdepartmentwithprospectivestudentvisits,coordinatingwithAdmissions.
* Manage receptionand work-room areas(Weber Center, 2nd floor)WC206, which includes keeping the areas neat, orderly, and supplied.
* Oversee the operationof office equipment, including the copier/Fax/scanner, and Remark grading machine.
* Helpwithcourse material preparationasneeded(e.g., preparing tests, making copies, etc.).
* Storeandproctorexams forfacultymemberswhenneeded.
* Gradetests usingtheRemarkgradingsystem.
* Prepare purchase order requisitionsfor departmentexpenses, which include office supplies, reimbursements, and other class materials as needed.
* Inventoryofficesupplies andordernewsuppliesas needed.
* Receiveanddistributeincomingmailandcollectoutgoingmail.
* Perform other duties within each department as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Workers (TAs), in cooperation with the various Department Chairs.

* 9- or 10-month job (negotiable), benefits included.
* 40 hours per week during each semester ,8a.m. to 4:30p.m.
