The Administrative Assistant position will assist in the completion and coordination of administrative and clerical tasks related to the operations of the Human Resources Department.

This is a part-time position requiring on-site attendance at our Grayling, Michigan location.

Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department, while maintaining confidentiality.

* Conducts research, composes correspondence, and prepares communications.

* Participates, schedules, and assists in the recruitment process.

* Assists in scheduling and coordination of training and onboarding cycles for employees.

* Ensures compliance with employment and labor regulations.

* Assists with administration and ensures compliance with employee benefits inquiries and enrollments.

* Prepares files and documentation.

* Assists with maintaining accurate, complete, and secure recordkeeping and database processing.

* Compiles and processes reports, forms, and records.

* Documents and tracks human resources actions in compliance with regulations and Kirtland policy.

* Coordinates and participates in campus meetings and events.

* Interacts with college employees, students, or outside contacts to provide information, solve routine issues, or otherwise respond to requests.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Associate's degree in business, human resources, or a related field.

* One to three years of office or administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirement of this position.

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Proficient in operating office equipment and computer software programs.

* Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in a variety of situations.

* Demonstrated ability to relate with people to work cooperatively and collaboratively.

* Ability to maintain confidential information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* One to three years of experience in a Human Resources Department.

SUPERVISION -Works under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

ATTENDANCE -Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the normal business hours of the college, primarily at the Grayling campus location but may occasionally be required to travel or be asked to vary their schedule to meet departmental needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS -Conditions are those of a typical office environment, requiring frequent communication with external staff, students, and external parties; the ability to enter and retrieve data and written communication in a timely manner; and maintain confidentiality at all times.
