Assists in receiving incoming telephone calls and directing people to the appropriate department.   • Provides information and referrals for the main District Clerk's Office line.
  • Directs telephone calls to appropriate staff members and takes messages as necessary.
  • Acts as a receptionist. Provides information and referral to the public.
  • Researches client information for district court cases.
  • Assists with setup and closures of District Clerk Subscriber Access (DCSA) accounts. Advises file desk and accounting with posting and refunding payments receipted through Certified Payments or mailed check for DCSA accounts. Submits adjustment requests to accounting for accounts with payments in arrears.
  • Prepares and completes DCSA reports.
  • Prepares application packets for applicants. Distributes application packets to interview panel.
  • Schedules appointments for applicants.
  • Performs clerical duties such as classifying, consolidating, summarizing, sorting, filing, copying, data entry, and distributing.
  • Processes and sorts mail for delivery to District Clerk downtown locations.
  • Maintains case file system and distributes case file requests to research queue.
  • Assists with maintaining staff SAP spreadsheet.
  • Performs all other related duties as required.
  • Minimum RequirementsNOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience/education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Three (3) full-time years of general clerical experience working with the public including two (2) full-time years of answering multi-line telephones and performing data entry.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills are necessary to interface with the general public and Tarrant County employees.
    • Ability to answer multi-line phone.
    • Knowledge of personal computers and keyboarding as well as typing and data entry skills. Knowledge of office equipment.
    • Must recognize the value of team dynamics, exhibit a professional demeanor, and possess problem solving and time management skills.
    • Must have the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
    If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing.Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudication in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
