Administrative Assistant

Pride Health is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support our clients medical facility based in Texas.

This is a 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension with competitive pay and benefits and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location Houston, Texas (77030)

Length of Assignment 3 Months (Possibility of Extension)

Pay Range - $20 - $23.50 an hour

Shift and Schedule - Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm.

Job Summary

Provides departmental support, which could include administrative support for assistant directors and/or other faculty/physicians and leaders. Under general supervision, performs administrative support duties of moderate complexity.

Job Duties

  • Answers telephones in a professional manner, takes accurate messages and transfers calls to the appropriate party in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Develops and maintains a system for tracking and restocking office supply inventory that ensures a constant and adequate supply of necessary operational supplies required for personnel and all office machines and stores them in an orderly, easily retrievable manner.
  • Coordinates daily general communications functions including 1) timely pick-up, delivery, and distribution of departmental mail, accurate preparation of outgoing mail, courier, and other mail media items for departmental personnel; 2) reliably handling e-mail and facsimile correspondence as directed
  • Maintains in stock and an orderly manner the coffee and other food supplies provided by the department, and ensures maintenance of general cleanliness of the department, including scheduling of routine and/or needed maintenance of facilities (carpets, walls, etc.), machines, etc.
  • Performs department-specific customer service functions.
  • Orders and maintains appropriate par levels of office supplies and manages within budget.
  • Completes assigned tasks for onboarding of new employees

Requirements

  • Required- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Required- 2 years of administrative/secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures and systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively utilize word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software, as well as the ability to perform internet research functions.
