Position Overview:
The Departmental Secretary provides comprehensive administrative support to faculty within the Critical and Creative Works department and the Honors College. This position ensures smooth departmental operations, supports academic initiatives, and assists with the execution of policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to department faculty, including managing correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining records.
* Assist in implementing academic policies and procedures as directed by the Chair of the Critical and Creative Works Department.
* Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for department faculty and the Dean of the Honors College.
* Support the preparation of academic materials such as syllabi, reports, and presentations.
* Assist in organizing department events, student activities, and Honors College functions.
* Serve as a liaison between the department, Honors College, and other university offices, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
* Maintain and organize department files, documents, and archives, ensuring confidentiality where necessary.
* Assist with budget tracking, purchasing supplies, and processing financial requests.
* Provide clerical support to the Honors College, including data entry, updating student records, and preparing materials for faculty and student use.
* Handle other duties as assigned by the department Chair or Dean of the Honors College.

Education and/or Experience
* High school diploma with at least two year related experience and/or training: bachelor's degree preferred.
Computer Skills
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of Excel and be able to utilize google-based services such as Calendar, Forms, and Drive.
Physical Demands
* While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
