Libby Elementary School Administrative Assistant 8 Hrs/Day Position Hours May Fluctuate Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. $16.00/hour 5 days per week Skills & Qualifications Preferred: Clerical, Secretarial, Accounting, & Confidentiality Proficient with Office Software & Equipment Possess & Utilize Good HR Skills with All Ages High School Diploma or Equivalent Post-High Course Work Willing to complete the following district-sponsored assessments: Fingerprint & Motor Vehicle Checks I. NATURE OF POSITION: The Administrative Assistant to the Elementary Principals is to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office through proficiency in public relations, bookkeeping, secretarial functions, and human relations skills so that the office's maximum impact on the education of children can be realized. The Administrative Assistant to the Elementary Principals shall maintain confidentiality of the office and information that passes through the office to protect the rights of all concerned. The Administrative Assistant to the Elementary Principals is directly responsible to the building principal, but shall work closely and cooperatively with all staff members. The Administrative Assistant may serve as the principal's representative in conducting business with the community education and business office. Desired Minimum Qualifications
- One year responsible office experience; high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by or including courses in typing and office practices; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
- Ability to work well with students of elementary school aged
- Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition both oral and written
- Handle variety of telephone calls and personal contacts with tact, diplomacy, and discretion
- Track and compile financial data and budget information for administration
- Knowledge of numerical, alphabetical, and subject-matter filing systems
- Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment, including receptionist, central phone systems and techniques, and word processing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters
- Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities
- Ability to handle stressful situations
