Job Description:Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by providing administrative support to the William M. Lasky School of Business.This is a 40 hour per week and 52 weeks per year 1.0 FTE position.Salary: $16.00/hour or more depending on experience.Essential Functions* Provides administrative support to the Director, other designated employees, and stakeholders of the School of Business.* Serves as initial point of contact for work unit.* Welcomes and assists walk-in visitors.* Answers telephone and email communications.* Maintains office supplies inventory.* Pays invoices and reconciles purchasing and/or travel cards.* Assists compiling reports as requested.* Assists and supports events, meetings, and conference/video calls.* Assists logistics for guest speakers, room reservations, catering, etc.* Creates documentation/spreadsheets to be used in support of presentations.* Produces basic correspondence as assigned.* Maintains department webpage and event calendars.* Assists with submitting hiring paperwork.* Assists with assigning advisors for incoming freshman majors.* Creates and maintains accurate reports of advisees assigned to advisors.* Creates and maintains accurate reports on departmental majors and minors.* Processes overrides and registrations for students for departmental classes.* Inputs faculty assignment of courses.* Serves as the designated academic adviser to no less than 15 students.* Supervises work study students.Other Functions* Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.* Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.* Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned.* Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.* Speaks, reads and writes in English.* Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.* Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.Requirements:* High School diploma or equivalent required; Some college preferred in business administration or related field.* At least 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in higher education* Experience with event planning preferred* Able to prepare minutes, agendas, reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook).
