Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement policies and procedures for certification to VA and monitoring the enrollment status of all students receiving VA educational assistance benefits. Establish and maintain a system for coordinating academic and financial transactions of students receiving benefits under the Veteran Readiness and Employment program. Develop, publish and update policy, procedure and informational material to include student correspondence as well as the VA section of the departmental policy and procedure manual as necessary to effectively administer the Veterans Administration Educational Assistance Benefits Program. Maintain general knowledge of regulations for Title IV and state aid programs particularly as they impact veteran students' eligibility for Title IV or state funding and/or veterans educational benefits. Work with the SFS Technical team to update and maintain VA related screens in Datatel and document imaging. Supervise and train VA staff and work-study students. Promote and maintain communication with all offices of the SDS division to facilitate proper implementation of the Veterans Educational Assistance Benefits Program. Serve as a liaison with the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Processing Center, Vocational Rehabilitation Unit and the Commission on Higher Education to ensure proper implementation of programs and accurate submission of certification documents. Establish and maintain the Student Financial Services Veterans Affair Office budget.
This position requires attention to detail, extensive knowledge of Department of Veterans Affairs and College curricula, policies and regulations as well as knowledge of data management and online services. Must possess the ability to plan, organize and communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and outside agencies. Employee must be able to make sound judgement within broad established guidelines under limited supervision. Some overtime may be required during peak periods.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related program experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or an Associate's degree and four (4) years of related program experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience administering veterans educational benefits. Supervisory experience.
