Job Summary
Provides administrative support to the Vice President Research and Economic Development and Director of 1890 Land-Grant Programs, Assistant Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs, Land-Grant Communications and the Land-Grant Facility and Capital Assets Manager. The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for completing and coordinating travel, purchase requisitions, and providing general support for the daily operations of the Research and Economic Development Division and 1890 Land-Grant Programs (LGPs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provides administrative support and clerical duties in support of the RED, LGP, and Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSP&R).
* Provides public reception, answers the telephone, and processes mail.
* Maintains records and budgets for the OSP&R and RED.
* Makes travel arrangements, prepares itineraries, processes travel requisitions and reimbursements and coordinates purchases of goods and services.
* Provides administrative support for the Land-Grant Communications Team and the Land-Grant Facilities and Capital Assets Manager.
* Works with the Director of Student Success and Experiential Learning to administer programs and prepare reports.
* Reconciles monthly travel and business Procard expenditures.
* Provides assistance to the Vice President for the RED division.
* Assists in planning meetings and events.
* Interview, hire, and supervise student workers.
* Maintains general filing.
* Ensures that proposals are developed in a quality manner with rigorous and thorough review. Archive and collect reviewer's comments for prior proposals.
* Maintains individual faculty areas of interest/capabilities file and assist in the preparation of University and Departmental Research Statements of Capability.
* Performs routine clerical duties.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
* Knowledge of university systems, policies, and procedures.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently of direct supervision and maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to work under tight deadline pressure.

* Education: Associates degree in business administration, office systems
technology, or closely related field, or three years of administrative experience including or supplemented by one year of office management experience.
