The Robinson College of Business is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist, Academic to provide support to the Department of Marketing . The Department of Marketing provides marketing instruction in nationally ranked degree programs. WHAT WILL YOU DO: The Administrative Specialist, Academic will provide support to the Department of Marketing and the Marketing RoundTable. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Student Support Services-Specialized Administrative Services: Advise prospective, transfer, transient, and current students about academic requirements. Audit student records for curriculum, major, concentration, and graduation requirement fulfillment. Process Graduate Assistant work assignments. Work collaboratively with International Student & Scholar Services to provide academic support to international students. Work directly with Business Manager and Department Chair in coordinating the hiring and orientation of doctoral students. Assess compliance with Board of Regents degree requirements, process registration authorizations. Assess classroom technology requirements for faculty (100 sections) inputs individual faculty classroom requirements. Utilizes GoSolar, Banner, Argos, and Degree Works to view academic records. Works directly with Associate Chair to provide academic support to students. Provide registration support for incoming students following acceptance into college. Assists with the generation of the semester course schedule including:faculty staffing and course adjustments. Process override requests, registration adjustments, and late registration requests. High volume test grading for faculty for the duration of each semester. Manages/updates tentative class schedule in collaboration with the Associate Dean, and Department Chair. Serves as advisor for graduate students assisting with registration, graduation audits, GPA requirements and enrollment policies. Maintains records for the completion of remedial requirements and required testing. Collaborate with the Business Manager and Graduate Director regarding GRA hiring, payroll, compensation, and assignments. Implementation of effective operational policies and procedures specific to the objectives of the department. Day-to-day collaboration with a wide range of internal and external constituencies involved in program activities. Faculty and Specialized Program Administrative Support: Initiate all departmental payment requests, invoices, and travel authorizations /expenses for faculty, staff, and PhD students via Panther Mart. Communicates directly with vendors to reconcile outstanding orders and invoices. Facilitate departmental supply inventory, order and restock supplies. Provide administrative support to the Marketing RoundTable (MRT). Generate invoices for membership annual dues for MRT. Distribute invoices to MRT members electronically; maintain a direct line of communication with members. Communicate directly with the MRT Director regarding membership status, outstanding payments, and membership roster updates. Assist with the planning and execution of monthly MRT meetings. Train and acclimate new GRA's each semester on daily operations of the Marketing RoundTable and university policies and procedures. Report directly to the MRT Director for all tasks related to the Marketing RoundTable. Provide administrative support and event coordination to the Sigma Phi Epsilon and other special project groups/events as needed. Qualifications : Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience. Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of Georgia State University policies and procedures, student academic requirements, Banner, Financial Edge, Panther Mart, and GoSolar. Experience with event cooridnation is a plus.
