This position performs administrative duties in support of the Juvenile Department's human resource functions and other duties as needed. Major Duties
- Provides customer services; answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; refers to appropriate personnel; takes messages and makes appointments.
- Provide information and answer questions from employees regarding personnel policies and procedures and employment benefits.
- Process department payroll records, and employment paperwork; and maintain personnel files.
- Process Workers' compensation and FMLA documentation.
- Assists in requesting employees' Family Medical Leave with Human Resources and keeps track until the employee returns to work.
- Maintain confidential drug and alcohol testing files, including referral forms, results, and other related information.
- Post all job vacancies in the NEOGOV software program and coordinate with Human Resource Department vacancies on the county's website.
- Assists internal and external applications regarding employment opportunities with Webb County Juvenile Department.
- Coordinates processing, screening, and interviews of employment applications for interview.
- Calls and sets up applications for interviews.
- Prepares letters to applicants not selected for positions.
- Prepares and maintains the Webb County Juvenile Department's New Hire Orientation Packets.
- Processes new hire employment paperwork.
- Process in New Worlds System/Tyler personnel Actions forms (New Hire, Promotions, Demotion, Resignation, and Termination) with Human Resources.
- Respond to all after-hour Workers' Compensation accidents to expedite employee medical needs.
- Assist supervisors with Workers' Compensation paperwork completion and submit claims to Risk Management Workers' Compensation Analyst.
- Coordinates with Risk Management Workers' Compensation Analyst that accruals are correctly deducted under Workers' Compensation rules. Coordinates with Risk Management Workers' Compensation. Ensures employees maintain their start and end date under Workers' Compensation including appointment, work status information, and restrictions.
- Submit all vehicle accident paperwork for Webb County Juvenile Department Office to the Risk Management Liability Department.
- Assists in the yearly preparation of the Juvenile Department Budget.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and forms.
- Maintains department files and records.
- Schedules and makes travel arrangements for department personnel.
- Attends department meetings.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
