Job Description :
Admissions Coordinator - Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford Monday through Friday, 40 hours, Non-Exempt Base Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hourEssential Functions:
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication/interaction with patients, families, visitors, and employees taking into consideration age and developmental level
  • Receives all referral information for admission of patients, secures physician assignment from medical director, and distributes appropriate referral information to respective hospital departments
  • Enters patient demographic and insurance information into Wellsky and pre-admits to create new visits
  • Prepares appropriate admissions folder/forms
  • Prepares appropriate paperwork for new patient medical chart - prints identification labels and new bracelet for all admissions
  • Meets and greets all new patients, assists with the admissions folder/insurance forms, and acquires all appropriate signatures
  • Enters MSP Questionnaire information into Wellsky for all patients with Medicare
  • Updates, prepares and distributes nursing and physician census information communication forms
  • Distributes morning patient census information to hospital departments as necessary
  • Maintains current active patient admissions files and uploads forms into Document Storage and Docuware. Prepares files for storage/medical records when patient is discharged
  • Follows proper protocol when patient is out acute and/or an interrupted stay
  • Prepares weekend admissions and sends weekend admissions email at the end of day on Friday
  • Assists patients and families with connecting to our guest Wi-Fi
  • Trains new nursing supervisors and unit secretaries to the admissions role for off hours coverage
  • Acts as support staff for the Central Admissions office
  • Performs other duties to meet the needs of the department as assigned by the Department Director
Prerequisites:
  • Knowledge of growth and development across the life span
  • Efficient typing and data entry skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High regard for confidentiality
  • Ability to operate all office equipment (fax, scanner, copy machine, personal computer, telephone)
  • Positive attitude, flexibility and friendly personality
