Job DescriptionBASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOBReceiving inquiries from families/agencies concerning services offered by Saint Francis Ministries. Organizes referral and pre-admission process.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSScreens admission calls and obtains intake information.Communicates if DFPS, or SSCC referrals sources for timely response to admission inquiries.Works with referral source to acquire needed admission paperwork and assessments.Maintains Inquiry History and waitlist information.Sends information as indicated by the admission and screening policies and procedures.Participate in formal admission review meetings with the treatment team, Director of Clinical Services and the Executive Director.Works closes with clinical team on all admissions and discharges.Participates in Quality Performance Improvement processes regarding admissions and discharges.Oversees admission data.When needed obtains a signed contract or works with clinical staff for placement and payment agreements.Completes follow-up reports on all residential discharges.Completes annual reports summarizing demographic and discharge information.Capable of being on-call for emergency transportation or other situations.Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and all term of the contract between Saint Francis Ministries and DFPS.Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.Ensures clients' rights are protected.Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOther duties as assigned.Will participate in a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year.RequirementsMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in behavioral sciences (Psychology, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, Marriage Family Therapy), Healthcare Administration, or degree in related field preferred.First Aid/CPR.Mandt.Prefer 2 years' experience in behavioral health or social services field.Must be 21 years of age. Must pass a physical examination, including drug screen and TB Skin Test. Must pass an Criminal History and DFPS History Check.Must pass a Centralized Background Check through the Texas Health and Human Services Eligibility and any background checks deemed to be necessary.FBI Fingerprint Check .Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Lifting requirements of 50 lbs. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESMandated Reporter.Demonstrates strong leadership skills.Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.Able to work flexible hours.Flexible to changing situations, staff, and clients.Sensitive to needs of clients and families.Basic understanding of child and adolescent development, treatment, and family systems.Basic understanding of adolescent development, treatment, and defense mechanisms.Basic understanding of adolescent therapeutic techniques and how this impacts the clients.Independent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position.Handles multiple priorities.Manages emotions and can make decision under pressure.Manages stress appropriately.Works alone effectively.Works effectively near others and/or in a distracting environment.Works effectively with others /teamwork.Understands practices Universal Precautions.
