TYPE OF POSITION/EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Full-Time, Administrator DEPARTMENT: AdmissionsSCHEDULE: 9:00am to 5:00pm - hours vary based on recruitment needs, event schedules and office hours. Will need to cover 11:00am to 7:00pm shifts on a rotating basis on Mondays and Tuesdays.

HOURS/WEEK and MONTHS/YEAR: 35 hours/week and 52 weeks/year FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salaried GENERAL PURPOSE This position serves as a member of the admissions team, focusing on recruiting prospective undergraduate students as outlined in the admissions enrollment plan. The Admissions Counselor will be required to represent Molloy University, both on and off campus, to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals and organizations involved in the college recruitment process. The individual will be responsible for attending various recruitment events, conducting information sessions, and representing Molloy at day, evening and weekend college fairs. The candidate will be required to counsel prospective applicants by in-person appointments, phone calls, online meetings and email. The position also requires the coordination of various on-campus events such as Open house, Accepted Students Day, Information Sessions and tours. The Admissions Counselor role is responsible for reading and processing inquiries, prospects and applications that come into the admissions system.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend undergraduate recruitment events primarily in the territories of New York State, and other locations as needed. The person in this role will prepare presentations, present materials and serve on admissions panels both on and off campus. This role will assist in graduate recruitment as needed.
  • Evaluate a high volume of first-year student applications and assist with transfer and graduate evaluations as needed. The Admissions Counselor will learn the Admissions system used to evaluate applications in order to ensure that a objective and consistent analysis is completed for all applicants.
  • Attend on-site evaluation days as well as high school visits, conduct campus tour presentations and run virtual webinars for interested students. This person will also interview prospective undergraduate students and respond to inquiries (email, phone, in-person, online, etc.) from prospective students and families.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute on-campus events, including but not limited to, Open House, Accepted Students Days, Counselor Information Sessions, Last Look Days, Campus Tours, and others. Events can also take place in virtual spaces like webinars or live events in social media spaces.
  • Serve as an admissions liaison for an academic division at Molloy.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 to 3 years of work related experience
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
