A Broome Street Academy graduate will possess the 21st-century knowledge, collaborative and technological skills and personal qualities that will enable them to contribute to their community and pursue their educational and professional goals.The Admissions & Parent Coordinator at Broome Street Academy Charter High School is responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive student recruitment plan that will guide the school towards consistently meeting recruitment and admissions goals. We are looking for a self-starter who can work well independently and as part of the Operations Team. This role is ideal for enthusiastic, out-going, people-person who believes in creative solutions to recruiting and retaining students, attention to detail, and data driven decision making. The role of Admissions & Parent Coordinator is an essential part of the Operations Team and entire school community because they must showcase BSA and help get students into our high-demand seats! This position will also be responsible for increasing and deepening parental and caregiver engagement by planning and executing parent and caregiver events, as well as serving as the primary contact for parents and caregivers. What you will do:
- Deeply know and understand the mission, values, program structure of BSA and be able to articulate who we are to prospective families, diverse audiences, and other stakeholders as necessary.
- Coordinate all BSA student recruitment communication in collaboration with the Head of School, Senior Director of Operations and The Door.
- Implement and update as needed the comprehensive student recruitment plan.
- Plan and lead in-person and online/virtual open houses, tours and information sessions.
- Perform outreach to middle schools and outside agencies for recruitment of possible transfer students looking for BSA's unique experience.
- Develop and maintain new feeder middle school relationships to enhance recruitment efforts.
- Manage the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment.
- Prepare regular reports on recruitment and admissions data.
- Ensure systematic and efficient handling of applications and related communication with caregivers and maintain impeccable enrollment records.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team for the collection and facilitation of digital and physical student records from newly enrolling students.
- Develop a recruitment budget to include marketing materials, ads, mailings, web presence and publications that showcases the school to prospective students and other constituents, including but not limited to radio, digital media, etc.
- Work with The Door membership and programs for agency wide recruitment.
- Work with School Data Manager, Success Coordinator and The Door/BSA's AIDP/Community Schools Team to ensure the roster is accurate and up to date with actively enrolled students to effectively address attendance concerns etc.
- Evaluate the efficacy of recruitment and marketing efforts and make changes to the program as needed.
- Partner with the School Data Manager on recruitment heat maps, tracking of retention and enrollment data, etc.
- Lead effort, in collaboration with the Student Life Team, Social Workers and Academic Team, to plan and facilitate the Summer Bridge New Student Program in support of student retention efforts.
- Attend networking events for student recruiters and represent the school at various gatherings and conferences related to admissions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with CBO's and other agencies to strengthen student recruitment efforts.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school, including but not limited to, Main Office coverage, lunch duty, and hall monitoring as needed.
- Help build an online and social media presence to communicate the brand and advertise all upcoming events.
- Work closely with all schools, parents, and community organizations to increase family involvement.
- Train parents in the Student Information System to provide families access to their student's information and ongoing academic progress.
- Increases parent involvement in the school by working closely with all school, parent, and community organizations.
- Conducts outreach to engage parents in their children's education.
- Convenes regular parent meetings and events around topics of key concerns to parents.
- In collaboration with Operations, organizes back-to-school, parent/caregiver conferences and other events to increase parental and community involvement and creates a welcoming school environment for parents.

Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Strong sense of customer service and knowledge of traditional and nontraditional marketing strategies required.
- Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals, and other personnel from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Comfort operating in urban high school, non-profit and institutional settings.
- Experience working with adolescents and caregivers preferred.
- Experience in a Charter School setting preferred
- Experience in Charter School recruitment and admissions processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required. Google Workspace knowledge preferred.
- Extreme comfort with using, testing and piloting new technology in video tours and online meetings strongly preferred.
