Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.ResponsibilitiesServes as an integral part of the college's enrollment management plan through recruitment events, activities, and admissions. Assist prospective students in the admissions and enrollment processes in the Admissions Office. Will work cooperatively with the Admissions Staff in a team environment. The Recruiter/Coordinator will assist in maintaining a student body of qualified persons through recruitment, admissions, advising, and event planning based on the goals of the college. Availability to travel to local areas is imperative.Essential FunctionsRecruiting: Schedules and coordinates visitations with high schools to speak with groups, counselors, and individual students. To market the college to prospective students and their parents by developing an ongoing relationship with them. This includes advising them on areas of study, degree requirements, and further options for post-secondary education as well as maintaining detailed records of visits of prospective recruits. Will develop and facilitate a plan to maintain a professional relationship and personal contact with prospective students and their families.Assist prospective and current students regarding areas of study, requirements, and additional options for post-secondary education and potential career opportunities as it pertains to the admissions process. Assigned to one or two academic divisions for in-depth knowledge and recruitment and new student enrollment support. Thorough familiarity with SCCC opportunities for students in all divisions as well as academic support and scholarship opportunities. Ability to quickly respond to student inquiries and stay involved in student enrollment learning opportunities.Attends and assists with recruiting events and activities on-and-off campus, e.g., College Planning Conferences (CPCs), Go-Getter's, Senior Shootout, Career Days, High School Campus Visits, County Fairs, Summer Camps, Saints and Seniors Day, CTE Expo, All-Saints Days, Parades, Fairs, and other events as assigned by the Director of Admissions.QualificationsA Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience up to six months of similar or related experience preferred. Must maintain a valid driver's license.Salary/BenefitsCompetitive salary.
