Job PurposeThe Admissions Recruiting Coordinator I - Non-Traditional Students represents Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) at a variety of community events and share information about KCKCC aimed at the general adult and non-traditional prospective student populations who primarily live and work in KCKCC's service area.This position ensures the high-quality execution and administration of customer service, business processes, and project management for prospective students with colleagues across the College to support KCKCC's mission and strategic priorities related to enrollment management, student success, and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all students.
Position Description- Under the direction of the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, responsible for developing and executing on an annual adult and non-traditional student recruitment plan designed to increase community awareness of KCKCC, increase prospective student inquiries and enrollment with an emphasis on supporting underrepresented student populations.
- Responsible for assigned recruitment activities including outreach to business organizations and community groups, conducting presentations, participating in recruitment fairs, and managing student inquiries through the matriculation phase.
- Responsible for collaborating with key College stakeholders to support the growth and academic success of the adult student population at KCKCC. This includes, but is not limited to, developing events, programs, and resources for prospective adult student with colleagues in Academic Affairs, Career Services, Educational and Global Innovation, Institutional Effectiveness, and the Student Success Center.
- As assigned by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, manage a recruitment territory ensuring productive partnerships between the community partners and KCKCC within the territory.
- Prepares reports and proposals as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.
- Assist with timely and accurate application for admission processing as needed.
- Assist with day, evening and weekend advising, enrollment and registration activities as needed.
- Responsible for assisting with the coordination of college visits by prospective students and groups.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Recruitment and the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM) consistent with the College's strategic priorities and goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Have a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of a diverse and broad range of admissions and recruitment programs and services to attract and support adult and non-traditional students.
- Have a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the unique qualities and attributes of the adult and non-traditional student populations consistent with best practices.
- A working knowledge of applying data-informed decision making to support strategic enrollment priorities for the College.
- The ability to effectively communicate student learning outcomes with industry recognized credentials to adult and non-traditional students.
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to and ability to work with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practices that promote social justice and equity.
- High energy, self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships and establish credibility with all levels of students, faculty, and staff in the organization and community partners.
- Detail-oriented.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Ability to manage several projects with multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Position Qualifications and/or EducationMinimum Qualifications and/or Education
- Associate's degree plus two (2) years of experience in sales, recruitment, admissions, marketing, social services, or related area -OR- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clear motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications and/or Education
- Demonstrated admissions or recruiting experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with adult and non-traditional students in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated experience with student information system and integrated resources such as a client resource management (CRM) system.
- Demonstrated public speaking experience to groups.
- Demonstrated experience working in a community or two-year college setting.
- Demonstrated experience within a higher education institution working with a highly diverse, first-generation, and financially fragile student population.
- Multilingual writing and speaking proficiency.
