Job Description :

The Admissions Specialist role at Team Recovery is responsible for managing the admissions process for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse and addiction. The role serves as the initial point of contact for potential clients and their families, guiding them through the admissions process, assessing their needs, and ensuring a smooth transition into treatment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Determine financial responsibility of potential client and if client is financially eligible for treatment.
  • Answer requests submitted for treatment through online application, phone call, or email.
  • Make routine follow up calls to monitor potential client's continued willingness to attend scheduled intake or appointments.
  • Monitor staff schedules and bed availability and schedule intakes accordingly.
  • Provide appropriate referrals as needed to other agencies or providers.
  • Maintain historical data of intake requests, scheduled intakes, and referrals to treatment.
  • Communicate with housing, operations, medical, and clinical staff to determine scheduling capability.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with community partners and agencies.
  • Transport clients as needed. Transports will eventually be conducted after 4:30pm.
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; and demonstrates presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Technology- Both Microsoft and Google.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
  • Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and other social and cultural agencies that can provide services to the patients and families.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • Knowledge and competency in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and calming techniques.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Degree from accredited college or university in a related field of study.

EXPERIENCE:

Behavioral Health and SUD treatment experience.

Preferred: Minimum of 3 + years of experience with intake/admissions process.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required: Valid CDCA, QMHS, and/or CPI Certification

Preferred: Bachelor's level certification (LCDC III or higher)

Required: Valid First Aid/CPR, AED, BLS, or ALS Certification

Required: Valid Driver's License
