Top Job Located in Coquille, OR Salary: $15The Admitting Clerk performs outpatient and inpatient registration functions. Provides general information to users, patients, and families. Ensures that patients meet financial requirements. Provides excellent patient focused customer service. Communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service. Full time. $20-$31.13/HR Monday thru Friday 6am start (8hours)Previous experience in one or more of the following roles:Customer ServiceHospital or Medical Office SettingAnalytic problem-solving skills: and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.Experience with computers, adding machine and normal office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, voice mail, etc.)Must be proficient in Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets and Microsoft WORD processing applications.HFMA Revenue Cycle Certification (may be obtained during the first year of employment).Responsibilities:Performs accurate and complete registration and admission functions.Verifies insurance for eligibility, in and out of network benefits, copay and deductible amounts.Manages time effectively to perform complete registrations while meeting departmental productivity standards. Uses time to complete other departmental duties when patients cannot be registered. Answers incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.Completes departmental intake forms as required.Organizes and files documents.Minimizes 3rd party payer denials by verifying authorization of service prior to forwarding patients to service areas.Maintains current knowledge of insurance requirements communicated by email, meetings, and payer website and newsletters.Follows hospital dress code policy.Assist patients who seek information on financial assistance.Maintains a neat, uncluttered work area.Maintains required worklists and reports.Performs medical necessity checks.Performs other duties as assigned.Maintains standards of service excellence by following AIDET. Provides and promotes a professional, positive climate within the workplace.Respects the rights and dignity of all patients. Always provides and maintains patient privacy. Is compliant with HIPAA guidelines and privacy practices, patient confidentiality and patient rights.Makes eye contact, smiles, and greets each customer/employee immediately.Uses the customer's/employee's name whenever possible.Escorts customer/employees to their requested location when possible.Responds quickly by explaining any delays in service, even if it is not your department.Follows up on requests, even when it is not a responsibility of your department.Acts and dresses professional in public areas at all times. Takes ownership of a customer's problem. Ensure the matter is resolved timely and that the customer is satisfied with the solution.
