Adult Education Part-Time ESL InstructorJob Summary:This position is charged with the instruction of ESL for Bradley County. This instructor will work with the IET Coordinator, WAGE Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Director to achieve goals set forth by the Adult Education program. ESL instruction as well as Civics instruction will be required. The position may be required to teach in person and/or online classes. The instructor works under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Adult Education. Salary : $20 per hour . This is a part-time position and will work 8 to 10 hours per week. Supervisory Responsibilities:N/ADuties and Responsibilities:• Educates students according to program guidelines • Collaborates with the ADED Advisor to create and update individualized learning plans for each student. • Maintains accurate documentation of classes, attendance, evaluations, and other related information. • Participates in program recruitment and retention activities • Attends required trainings, professional development, and meetings • Provides exceptional customer service to prospects, students, and community partners. • Represents the program in the community, identify resources, identify potential partners, and be an advocate for SouthArk Adult Education • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned Skills and Abilities:• Strong communication skills • Knowledge of pedagogy and adult learning theories • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the classroom • Fosters a climate of mutual respect in the classroom and with colleagues • Punctuality to begin and end class at the scheduled times • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Required Education and Experience:• Earned bachelor's degree • Current Arkansas Department of Education teaching license Preferred Education and Experience:• Experience teaching in an adult education program • Experience teaching English as a Second Language/ESL endorsement • Current Arkansas Adult Education teaching certification Travel Requirements:Instruction at off-campus approved facilities Application AgreementApplications will be accepted until the position is filled.
