Job Type Part-timeDescriptionTitle: Adventure and Outdoor Recreation Student FacilitatorReports To: Adventure Sports Coach Standard Hours: Variable - up to 20 hours per week (CANNOT work more than 20 hours per week with all KC employment combined when classes are in session)FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Classification: StudentWage: Minimum WageSummary: Work with adventure staff to create meaningful programming for a diverse and inclusive population. Assist in operating all adventure programs, challenge courses, bike share, off-campus trips, trail systems, as well as aid in the development of new programming. Duties will include planning, execution, and supervision of a variety of adventure events.Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and fun environment for participants, peers, and yourself.
- Plan and manage indoor/outdoor trips, team building programs, educational sessions, leadership programming, and other forms of adventure therapy.
- Assist the operations and development of The Birkett Mills Challenge Course , trail system, bike share program, camping equipment, and other outdoor recreation programs.
- Assist in program evaluation, tracking, and other necessary paperwork.
- Promote Campus Recreation programs to a diverse and inclusive population.
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
- Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
- Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
- Perform other functions as assigned by management.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Eligible for a Federal work-study award (FCW) or a Keuka College work-study award (KWW).A current Keuka College student in the on-campus traditional undergraduate program.Strong eye for detail.Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging with people.Good attitude, willingness to have fun, and work hard.Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
