The lead Quality Source Inspector (SI) performs inspection operations of in-process or completed hardware, including dimensional and visual inspection. The source inspection may include reviewing all paperwork relating to the product. This includes operations such as Final Inspection, Receiving Inspection, Outside processing, and Assembly.ResponsibilitiesPerform a dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace machined components.Experience in performing FAI s AS9102 (The SI will verify the supplier s FAI, not perform them)Perform final inspection (which includes dimensional, visual inspection, surface finish, and assembly inspection)Experience with the AS9100 and AS9102 standards inspection planning, tools, and processes required.Works directly with outside vendors to ensure the goal of customer satisfaction is met.Reviews and approves supplier delegations.Serves as assigned management representative to customers for the Greenpoint Quality System.Plans and conducts internal/external audits.Coordinates and facilitates FAA conformity inspection on designated programs as required.Interfaces with the FAA/DER/DAR to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and reflected in the quality system.Communicate expectations to vendors and support vendor compliance to those expectations.Conducts 1: 1 discussions, annual performance, and mid-year reviews and recommends salary adjustments.Ensures growth and development of organizational units by providing appropriate training and experiential opportunities and identifying employee goals.Partners with leadership on recruiting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and terminations.SkillsA bachelor s degree and seven years of related experience, with at least four years in a product-driven environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Aircraft industry experience is also required.Proven experience in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment and experience with hand measurement tools.Experience with the AS9100 and AS9102 standards inspection planning, tools, and processes required.Knowledge of CMM Inspection process (Knowledge of CMM Programming is not required)QAM must be familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations, orders, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins applicable to producing aviation products and articles.Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Familiar with procuring raw materials/parts/commodities related to VIP aircraft interiors.Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Experience with MS Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access); expedited resource planning; inventory and order processing systems.Must be able to pass drug testing and background checking
