Job description:

Position Summary:

The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing tests to ensure that product quality and reliability meet customer requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify testing needs, create test procedures, and analyze results. The Test Engineer will also engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving to ensure product performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review acceptance and qualification test procedures and corresponding reports for complex aerospace hardware
  • Oversee and/or execute hardware testing
  • Analyze test results and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Install and troubleshoot testing equipment
  • Improve data acquisition system software and hardware
  • Assist in the maintenance of test lab equipment
  • Maintain database of instrumentation used in the test department
  • Research new instrumentation and testing methodologies
  • Review calibration of test instruments to verify compliance with quality assurance and customer requirements
  • Travel as needed to test labs to support testing
  • Support disposition of technical issues which occur during manufacturing
  • Support customer reviews and inbound requests

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices
  • Expertise in instrumentation and data acquisition
  • Knowledge of analog and digital test equipment
  • Knowledge of data acquisition software such as LabVIEW
  • Knowledge of relevant MIL-STD's
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling and CAD software
  • Familiarity with heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Due to contracts with the United States Government, the candidate must be either a US Citizen or Green card holder.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environment
  • Ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
