POSITION SUMMARY:The YMCA is seeking excited team members to join our Nita Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children in your area learn and grow through play as well as build a rewarding career working with children!The YMCA after school programs offer a safe, positive environment where kids in elementary school in Hedgepath Intermediate School can have fun while they learn and grow through play and we expect you to play and laugh along with them!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:We are looking for outstanding role models to come and help us create a great place for 4th - 6th graders to grow and learn.This part-time opportunity requires you to be available any day after school from Monday - Friday from 2:30pm to 5:30 pm, flexible days are available.This position is a September through June position. In exchange for your time and willingness to have fun, this position is $30 an hour, depending on your experience, and offer a number of great incentives including: Ongoing Professional DevelopmentYou'll get to lead groups of kids through exciting curriculum and activities. Provide academic remediation and enrichment instruction during afterschool hours. Lead activity clubs that help students explore the arts integration and social and emotional skills. Serve as Instructors and use intentional alignment with the school day and priorities of the school administration. Have a positive attitude. Good attendance and punctuality. Must be a certified teacher.2. Previous experience with school age children preferred.3. - Ability to assist in the planning, leading and participating in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
