After School Care Aide (2024 - 2025 School Year) - Foothills Area YMCA : Job Details

General Function:Assists in the daily administration of the YMCA After School Program.

Assists students in completing daily homework assignments. Check to make sure homework is done correctly.

Help record and maintain the student information.

Supervise and monitor participants.

This includes but is not limited to: hand washing, bathroom breaks, water breaks, outdoor programming, indoor programming, etc.

Provide appropriate first-aid to participants as the need arises.

Set up/distribute snacks.

Maintain the program area.

Other duties as assigned by the Childcare Director, Associate Childcare Director, or Site Director.

Qualifications:

At least 16 years of age.

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.

Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred, but not required.

Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate activities.

Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds, preferred but not required.
