DescriptionThe after-school program coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of our afterschool program for 7th through 12th grade students. They will oversee homework and tutoring each day. In addition, they will plan instruction and implement interventions and enrichment activities. The coordinator will work closely with his or her team to ensure the activities connect to the students' needs. They will be responsible for creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment. Furthermore, the coordinator will seek to understand and meet the expectations of students and families and communicate with them daily. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for coordination of program events daily.
- Direct and guide students to activities that provide support for current learning or intervention in areas of need.
- Build relationships with students and families.
- Establish a team concept with students' teacher to better be able to meet student needs.
- Facilitate and encourage an environment of enrichment and support for students.
- Facilitate and supervise student pick up.
- Document activities and provide feedback to administration, students, staff and families.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Maintain records of attendance (sign-in/out sheets) and provide them to administration.
- Report problems with students, families or employees.
- Assist with purchase orders and obtaining program supplies.
- Follow and enforce district policies and procedures.
- Support community relations by acting as an ambassador for the organization.
- Actively build relationships that will advance the mission and values of the school.
RequirementsEDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, WORK RELATED EXPERIENCES & CLEARANCES:
- A high school diploma; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- All Pennsylvania Clearances are required (Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, Act 168 and Physical Exam and TB Test.)
