GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The ag-business intern is responsible for supporting daily farm operations, contributing to research and development, and gathering and analyzing data related to crop performance, soil health, and other farm metrics. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in agricultural management, business operations, and sustainable farming practices. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: Operational Support: Assist with day-to-day farm operations including planting, harvesting, and maintenance. Support in the management of inventory, equipment, and supplies. Gain hands-on experience with farm management systems such as Harvest Profit and John Deere Ops. Learn to operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, plows, and harvesters. Innovative Practices: Contribute to the implementation and testing of new agricultural technologies and practices. Support ongoing research projects aimed at improving crop yields, soil health, and farm efficiency. Data Collection and Reporting: Help with data collection, analysis, and interpretation for various research studies. Help maintain accurate records of field activities, including planting dates, growth stages, and crop yields. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other interns on various projects. Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions and planning.
