This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.35 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This position is located at 4400 Reedy Creek Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607.
TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL INSPECTOR - FEED Territory 3. This position will work 30-40 hours per week. This position will collect animal food samples for analysis of chemical and microbiological hazards for emergency response, surveillance and compliance efforts. This position will conduct inspections and sampling at retail establishments for compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. Contact is maintained with manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and purchasers in order to explain regulations, registration, labeling, and sampling requirements. Work may include other duties as assigned. Position will be trained by the Feed Program Administrator, Feed Compliance Officer, and Feed Inspection Supervisor. The position will be assigned to the territory listed below and must reside in one of the counties listed.
Those counties are as follows: Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Gates, Greene, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington. Must reside within Pitt, Beaufort, Green, Lenoir, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Duplin, Pender, Onslow, and Carteret.NOTE: Qualified applicants must meet and CLEARLY reflect on their application training and experience and all knowledge, skills, abilities, and any experience or competencies specified in the posting and/or supplemental question(s) to be considered. * Ability to learn, apply, and explain State or Federal laws or regulations pertaining to the manufacture, storage, distribution, and/or sale of animal feeds.
* Ability to learn techniques and understand how equipment is used and what equipment is used in the production, processing, storing, and sale of animal feeds.
* Ability to practice good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years and six months of experience in the manufacture or sale of feed products, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
