Insight Global is seeking an aircraft assembler for one of our major aerospace clients, who have a location in North Charleston, SC. This individual will be responsible for both the quality control and the assembly of aircraft materials. They will report on job constraints that include: errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., in accordance with procedures. Perform any repairs, rework, functional checks and the incorporation of authorized changes, etc., as outlined by the Lead. Remove and/or replace installed components and any related parts. Must be able but not limited to drilling close tolerance holes in composites, Tool indexing, and Gap measurement. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions, and instructions. Be safety conscious; employ the use of safety glasses, safety harnesses, respirators, boot socks, and other pertinent safety equipment 100% of the time. Exhibit exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards. Maintain clean, neat, organized, and FOD-free work area. Possess understanding and knowledge of basic computer systems and programs. Ability to stand for long periods and work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required. Frequent overhead work may be required.

In order to be qualified for this position, candidates must have the following skills/background:

  • 1-15 years of recent experience working on aircraft assembly and manufacturing; or a relevant completed aerospace manufacturing program (examples: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Trident Technical College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Pittsburg Aeronautical Institute)
  • Excellent reliability with the ability to commute onsite daily in North Charleston, SC
  • Comfortable with either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift work

Compensation:

$23-$42/hr (Pay is dependent on years of experience. With bands being 1-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-10 years, and 10+ years of experience.) Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
