AIRCRAFT PAINTER - AtWork Group : Job Details

Our client is a multinational aerospace and defense corporation that designs, develops, and manufactures aircraft engines, helicopter engines, spacecraft propulsion systems, and other aerospace and military equipment.Prepares and assists in painting, striping layout, and aircraft details under close supervision according to company quality standards and operating procedures.ResponsibilitiesSafely performs aircraft preparation for painting following current technical data required in the manufacturers instructions for continued airworthiness, government, and industry-standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.Follows standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as dual-action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers.Properly cares for and maintains shop equipment and tools.Follows standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals and uses proper protective equipment as required.Complies with safety rules and procedures and remains alert, addressing unsafe conditions with management before putting people or property at risk.Conserves material assigned to each task and helps to eliminate waste through proper handling and storage.Assists with aircraft movement in hangars.Complies with Paint Shop standard practices and processes.Offers continuous improvement ideas and participates in continuous improvement activities.Understand the impact of budget hours on schedule and next-phase requirements.Follows process improvements and eliminates non-value-added activity.Follows product specifications and hazardous material guidelines.Understands the procedure for obtaining hazardous material safety data sheets.Skills & AbilitiesAt least two years of experience as a Painter in the Aerospace IndustryAbility to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally)Must be able to pass drug testing and background checking Ability to select and work with proper tools for job tasks.Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem-solving.Ability to travel as required & Ability to work overtime as needed.High school Diploma
