About Blue Grass Airport and the position:Due to the recent split of the public safety department, we are now looking for officers to serve in a law enforcement only capacity. Blue Grass Airport has openings in our Department of Public Safety department for Airport Police Officers. These exciting public servant positions are customer service-focused and play a vital role in the airport's public-facing responsibilities. Airport Police Officers perform all duties related to airport safety and security, including but not limited to, general law enforcement on airport property, and law enforcement duties as specified by the appropriate federal, state, and local authorities for anti-hijack and anti-terrorism security. You must also have an excellent background with no felony convictions or history of criminal or improper conduct which would affect suitability for law enforcement duties. Candidates are required to have a valid Commonwealth of Kentucky driver's license. Candidates must have the ability to interact well with the public and all airport stakeholders. Candidates must have the ability to function within a Chain of Command on a daily basis.Candidates must be Commonwealth of Kentucky Certified Police Officers. Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug screen, and complete background investigation.Schedule: Airport Police Officers have a variety of part-time shifts available ranging from start time of 5am until 11pm. A regular schedule of the same days week to week, is available with the exceptions for irregular operations, trainings or emergencies.All applications are welcome and accepted until positions are filled.
