The New HVN will improve infrastructure, prioritize safety and security, evolve the passenger experience, strive to exceed guest and neighbor expectations, deliver economic benefits to the region, and focus on sustainability and environmental impacts as our commitment to a better future at HVN.POSITION SUMMARYThe Ramp Coordinator position involves coordinating with the Terminal Operations Controller to ensure safe and efficient ramp operations, enforcing security and safety regulations, and monitoring for hazards or issues on the airfield. Responsibilities include overseeing fueling and vehicle movements, responding to emergencies, inspecting personnel and equipment per the airport security plan, and assisting with air carrier coordination, snow removal, and facility maintenance. May require occasional overtime, with evening and weekend shiftwork. Duties and assignments may change periodically.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate with the Terminal Operations Controller for safe passenger movement and overall ramp operations.
- Address security issues involving door alarms, vehicle access, and ensure compliance with TSR 1542.
- Monitor ramp cleanliness to mitigate Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and other potential hazards, including tripping and slipping.
- Respond to ramp emergencies.
- Enforce airport rules and regulations for vehicle and equipment operation on the AOA.
- Oversee fueling, ground support vehicle movement, and other aircraft servicing.
- Report and respond to spills on the ramp, including oils and fuels.
- Assist with snow removal operations.
- Conduct inspections of personnel, vehicles, and goods as required by the airport security plan.
- Escort personnel and equipment for projects across airport property.
- Identify and resolve operational, safety, and security concerns, and notify management of any violations.
- Monitor airfield conditions during inclement weather.
- Assist the Terminal Operations Controller in coordinating air carrier movements, gate allocations, and aircraft deicing.
- Perform facility inspections and create necessary work orders.
- Position requires shift work, mandatory overtime, acceptable attendance, and job performance.
- Complete initial airfield driver training and maintain privileges through annual recurrent training.
- Other duties as assigned by Airport Management.
COMPENSATIONStarting wage at $21.00 per hour. - Preferred candidate will have at least one (1) year of experience in airport operations or a security-related field, or an Associate's Degree or greater from an accredited school.
- Must be able to pass security clearance requirements and required drug testing.
- Possession of a valid driver's license suitable for operation of all administration airport vehicles.
- Well-established work ethic, initiative, and detail-oriented professional standards.
- Situational awareness.
- Ability to focus on diverse responsibilities, manage complex scenarios, and make prudent and mature decisions.
- Flight operations are conducted 24/7/365. Day, night, weekdays, and holiday work is required. Extended shifts and/or callbacks may be necessary. Periodic shift rotation can be anticipated to maintain familiarity with all operational situations.
