Are you ready to embark on an exciting career in the aviation industry? As an Airport Ramp Service Agent for Delta, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our flights. Located in Pittsburgh, this full-time position offers a dynamic work environment with various shifts available including A.M., Overnight, and P.M.
Base Pay Rate: $17.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, service, guide, and direct customer aircraft to ensure timely departures.
- Safeguard customers' baggage, air cargo, and mail from weather, loss, theft, and damage.
- Lift, load/unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage and freight in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operate pushback equipment while maintaining visual contact with Wing Walkers for safety.
- Record and manage customer baggage, airfreight, and mail as required.
- Transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, accurately preparing records of these transactions.
- Utilize and drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders and tugs, ensuring all operations are performed safely.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to work assignments and enter data into the company's information system.
- Assist with other related duties as assigned within your skill set.
Qualifications:
- Must be a local (in-state) resident.
- Valid In-State Driver's License is required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a 10-year background check.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Authorization to work in the United States as per the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Completion of ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification is mandatory.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 70 pounds or more regularly.
- Regular need to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to work in cramped or high places and carry heavy items up and down jet way stairs.
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- One or more years of relevant work experience is desirable.
