The Domestic Violence program at Unity House of Troy has openings for a part-time Alternating Weekend Advocate position for either morning 7:30AM-3:30PM or evening.
3:30PM-11:30PM.
Responsibilities:
Provide coverage for staff, while ensuring the satisfactory and safe functioning of the Domestic Violence emergency residence.
Answer phones and texts including the Unity House Domestic Violence Hotline and NYS Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault/PREA Hotlines.
Handling miscellaneous site issues.
Engage in ongoing victim-centered and trauma-informed interactions with program residents.
Provide crisis intervention including.
Obtain necessary resources, and complete associated paperwork.
Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED and 1-2 years previous experience working with victims of domestic violence, hotline and crisis management experience. Must have reliable transportation. Valid NYS driver's license.
