The Alumni Engagement Specialist serves as a member of the Alumni Relations team, responsible for the support and promotion of alumni relations' initiatives, programs, event planning, promotion, communication, and marketing. The AES will also assist with the planning and facilitation of signature programs such as Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, Homecoming, special affinity events and promotion of other programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for initiating and maintaining positive relationships between alumni and Liberty University to further develop commitment to the university through financial giving.
- Frequently communicating with alumni expressing gratitude, offering prayer, recognizing their birthday, as well as communicating the progress/success/needs of Liberty University.
- Monitor and update alumni information to ensure accurate reporting, follow-up, and event notification.
- Document each conversation with alumni in the CRM database for retention.
- Work directly with the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and the Alumni Engagement team to ensure all alumni are communicated with in a timely manner.
- Raise funds for Liberty University Alumni Scholarship,
- Must use discretion and follow process when connecting alumni through events and chapters.
- Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS Build ongoing relationships with alumni through phone calls, letters/cards, emails, chapters and events.
Supervisory Responsibilities May be asked to supervise Student Workers
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience High School Diploma required with 2 to 3 years' experience in the field preferred. Excellent communication and social skills. Computer knowledge necessary. Event planning and management experience preferred.
