Concordia University Chicago invites applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Alumni Relations Specialist. This position is responsible for assisting in the cultivation and engagement of alumni in the mission and ministry of the University, playing a critical part in managing all aspects of alumni communications. This position is located in River Forest, IL and reports to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations.Responsibilities/Duties:Manages, develops content, and writes alumni communication including, but not limited to: alumni social media accounts, e-mails, University magazine, website, and direct mailAssists with alumni-centric events such as alumni receptions, commencement, and conferences, homecoming, Maroon & Gold banquet, and Athletic Hall of FameRepresents Concordia University Chicago as an ambassador at off-campus conferences and eventsCollaborates with Foundation colleagues (e.g., External Relations, Gift Officers, etc.) to ensure the University's brand and strategy is used consistently and effectivelyCoordinates and executes stewardship opportunities for Concordia-Chicago alumniProvides excellent customer service to inquiries via the Alumni-dedicated phone line and/or email accountAssists the Senior Director of Alumni Relations with administrative tasks such as paperwork, filing, and data entryCandidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).Other duties as assignedSkill Sets:Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to reach alumni of diverse generations, backgrounds, and experiencesEnthusiastic supporter of Concordia University Chicago and Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod higher educationExperience developing content for various social media platformsStrong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skillsSome graphic design knowledge a plusAbility to engage with LCMS stakeholders and influencersMust be able to lift 25 poundsMust be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as neededMinimum Experience Required:1-3 years of experience in alumni relations and/or fundraising preferredExperience in educational advancement preferredStrong preference given to alumni of Concordia University ChicagoEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Compensation and Benefits:(FULL-TIME) Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
