The Amazon Business (AB) seller marketplace team is driving the next wave of growth for our Business Customers' (Enterprise and Small and Medium Businesses) purchasing needs, by relentlessly innovating across a broad spectrum of functions including expanding our selection, offering everyday low prices, improving the world-class delivery, and providing exceptional convenience.

Our team delivers new, efficient purchasing solutions to individual proprietors, to small-medium businesses, to global organizations (and everything in between).

As a Site Leader of Amazon Business, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Leadership – Inspire team members across three VP orgs, including People Managers, Program Managers, Sales Reps, Catalog Specialists, Account Representatives, and Marketing.
  • Vision – You will be the leader for Amazon Business in Costa Rica. VP- and Director-level stakeholders will depend on you to set the vision for their team members in SJO.
  • Develop and nurture a culture of high performance and accountability good practices to the SJO team to drive improvement of employee skills, processes, career advancement, and job enrichment.
  • Seller Success – Determine the best go-to-market approach for supporting seller onboarding strategies, including listing creation, integration, and escalation support.
  • Seller Growth – Own, drive and operationalize strategic initiatives to accelerate AB GMS growth for our sellers, including item data quality, seller and sales productivity, listing simplification, and seller education.
  • Strategy – Define the multi-year vision and strategy for the larger SJO team with the goal of adding incremental value for the organization.
  • Global Influence – Partner with business teams worldwide, and set/clarify requirements and expectations for Seller Ops Support initiatives.
  • An ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in people management and talent development for about 10+ years as a leader, with a focus on working with multidisciplinary teams, project deliverables, and deadlines. A candidate with strategic and innovative thinking to guide Seller Operations Support in identifying, launching, and scaling new initiatives that accelerate the growth and direction of Amazon Business programs and identify top areas of opportunity.

    Key job responsibilities:

  • Use metrics and mechanisms to measure progress of your team.
  • Anticipate and reduce HR and facilities issues.
  • Report on team health and opportunities for individual and team growth.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience as People Manager (leading people), including other people managers.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, marketing, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading stakeholder engagements and presentations with senior and international leaders.
  • Experience in large multi-national companies.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in marketing, business, economics, product management, or related fields.
  • Experience in eCommerce, technology, B2B, or retail sectors.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects.
  • Strength in problem solving, issue resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to think creatively, identify needle-moving customer solutions, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities within a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to defend ideas and investments, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executive levels in the company.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams virtually or internationally.
