Hybrid Role (Partially Onsite-Partially Remote): We are currently seeking a Full-Time Ambulatory Application Analyst to join our Epic Department at the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health. Hybrid office locations in Ada, OK and Plano, TX.Summary:The Ambulatory Application Analyst is responsible for work associated with the analysis, design, implementation, operation, deployment, and support of the organization's electronic health record (EHR), Epic, and related third-party applications within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH). The Ambulatory Application Analyst will know the technical capabilities of the systems they support, as well as the clinical and business requirements of the organization. They will participate in new modules or application implementation and upgrades and act as liaisons between the department, information technology, and application vendors for CNDH. Epic Applications Bones Certification - Must be completed within 90 days of position hire.Responsibilities:* Analyzes, documents, and communicates business requirements for new system functionality and enhancements to existing functionality* Test system changes to ensure that they meet business requirements and do not adversely impact other areas of the Epic system* Acts as the primary support contact for the application's end-users* Identifies issues that arise in their application areas and issues that impact other application teams and works to resolve them* Guides workflow design, builds, tests the system, and analyzes other technical issues associated with Epic software* Works with Epic representatives and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs regarding the project deliverables and timeline* Develops an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's goals and objectives by attending site visits and other integrated sessions* Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership* Performs in-depth analysis of current and future workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the Epic EHR and designated third-party applications* Partners with quality, operational, and business leaders on system design and optimization to meet quality, safety, financial, and efficiency needs * Validates that data is accurate and meets business requirements* Provides support for installing and implementing system patches, service utilities, and version upgrades as assigned* Troubleshoots and identifies root causes and documents problems of simple to medium complexity for assigned applications and systems* Maintains data integrity and security for assigned applications and systems* Identifies, implements, completes integrated testing, and communicates requested changes to the Epic system* Develops system documentation as assigned per standards* Develops communication-related education efforts for deployments, upgrades, optimizations, and other system changes as assigned* Coordinates with Department of Health IT staff and other application administrators to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts, provide secondary support on related software modules, and ensures smooth operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated with other services functions* Collects requirements regarding potential system enhancements or new system implementation and prepares details of specifications needed; prioritizes and implements requested changes to the system* Completes integrated testing to test system changes in all Epic environments to ensure that they meet business requirements and do not adversely impact other areas of the system* Stays current on Epic application releases and participates in upgrade planning and testing* Investigates standardization and process improvement opportunities by rounding within clinical areas while making build decisions* Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area* Cultivate and sustain cooperative relationships across different divisions, departments, and external entities* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* All other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Follow instructions, written or oral * Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Read, understand and apply regulations and policies* Must have a clear understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)* Knowledge and understanding of a wide array of integration points, including scheduling, lab, radiology, billing, ambulatory, health information management, and other integrated areas* Communicates verbally with team, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Intermediate computer skillsExperience:Essential:* 3 years directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* Bachelors Degree in directly related fieldCredentials:Essential:* Standard Driver's License* Pass general background check* Completion of the Sphinx Assessment* Epic module certification as assigned* Epic Bones CertificationNonessential:* Cert Associate in Healthcare Information and Mgmt Systems* Certified Prof Healthcare Information Management SystemsWorking Conditions:Essential:* Pass pre-employment drug test* May be required to work after hours or on weekends as needed
