Job Title: Ambulatory Driver

Reports to: Operations Supervisor

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Who We Serve:

EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Position Summary:

The Ambulatory Driver is responsible for the safe, reliable, timely and compassionate transport of individuals of all ages and abilities to a variety of destinations including medical appointments, personal engagements and school. The Driver maintains a strict adherence to schedules ensuring timely pick-up and drop off of passengers, is responsible for the appearance of the vehicle and promotes a positive, professional image of the company at all times.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers to and from their destinations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safe operation; report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain accurate transport records, including times and passenger information, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle and adhere to predefined routes and schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding patient pick-up and drop-off.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean and sanitized.
  • Handle any emergency situations or passenger needs during transport in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs required by the employer or state regulations.
  • Collaborate with Student Monitor to ensure safe and compassionate transportation of passengers.
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Must have a clean criminal record and pass a drug screening.
  • May have no more than three (3) traffic citations in the previous 36 months and no driver's license suspensions or revocations within the past five years.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record throughout employment with EMT
  • Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license which allows for the operation of vehicles for hire (Class E in Missouri, Class D in Illinois)

Education:

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years as a Driver in a work capacity
  • Proven experience in customer service or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with safety and emergency procedures.
  • First Aid, AED and CPR certification preferred.

Abilities:

  • Ability to assist passengers courteously and efficiently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
