Description:
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program designed to alleviate poverty in communities across the country. Through a partnership with VISTA, Metropolitan Ministries' goal is to generate resources to expand housing, outreach, and food programs that support our mission of caring for the homeless and those at-risk of becoming homeless. The Project Management Coordinator VISTA will develop and implement 10 process improvement projects to increase the efficiency of Metropolitan Ministries' programs which serve people experiencing homelessness.
Service Term: 365 days
Days/Hours: Full time; this position is 40 hours/week.
Member Duties:
- Shadow different Metro teams to learn about other department processes.
- Work with East & West Pasco locations to review internal Programs processes to ensure they are aligned with those on the main Tampa campus.
- Research and document best practices in Agile/Hybrid project management documentation.
- Develop and implement 10 process improvement projects to increase the efficiency of MM's teams, including case management, counseling, education, employment, etc.
- For each project: define process improvement goals based off gaps and barriers, map a future process that will meet goals, provide solutions, and make recommendations in writing, collaborate with team for successful implementation of recommended solutions, and document and evaluate the effectiveness of the solution.
- Attend regular team meetings providing consistent, effective communication on project status updates: milestones, potential risks and issues that could hinder projects' ability to complete on time.
- Assist the Project Management team with preparing charters, meeting minutes, troubleshooting solutions, and communicating with stakeholders where relevant.
Position Requirements and Specifications:
- BA degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must be a US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), or someone legally residing within a state. Examples of persons legally residing within a state may include those holding the following classifications: refugee, asylee, temporary protected status throughout VISTA service, and holding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
- Be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
- VISTA members must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Check
- Must be available for full-time working hours for 1 full year.
